The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations at Swirl,

ensuring excellence in guest experience, team leadership, and financial performance. This role focuses

on upholding operational standards, maximizing profitability, and fostering a positive work

environment. The GM will lead by example, developing a high-performing team while maintaining

compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

 Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard store staff.

 Lead and motivate a team to deliver excellent guest service and high-quality products.

 Train and develop employees to ensure operational success and career growth.

 Create and maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability,

and performance excellence.

 Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement

progressive discipline when necessary.

Operational Excellence

 Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

 Monitor inventory levels, minimize waste, and control cost of goods while maintaining quality

standards.

 Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of store facilities and equipment.

 Implement and enforce food safety, health, and safety regulations.

 Ensure all staff members adhere to dress code and personal appearance standards.

Financial Performance & Business Growth

 Maximize profitability by managing labor costs, inventory, and overall operational expenses.

 Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer retention.

 Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for

improvement.

 Approve and submit invoices, payroll, and other store-related expenses in a timely manner.

Customer Experience & Brand Representation

 Deliver an exceptional guest experience by ensuring fast, friendly, and quality service.

 Address guest concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.


 Promote and execute local and corporate marketing initiatives, including seasonal promotions

and in-store events.

Compliance & Reporting

 Ensure accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reports (sales, inventory, labor, etc.).

 Maintain employee records and scheduling compliance with company and labor laws.

 Work closely with corporate and regional leadership to align with company goals and

expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Team

Members.

Qualifications & Skills

 Previous experience in restaurant, food service, or retail management required.

 Strong leadership and team development skills.

 Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

 Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L management, and cost control.

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing

business needs.

 Basic math skills and proficiency with POS systems.

Physical Demands

 Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

 Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

 Ability to taste, smell, and visually inspect products for quality control.

Work Schedule & Availability

 Must have flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

 Must have reliable transportation and access to a phone for work-related communications.
